Job Description
Job Purpose
Responsible for ensuring that safety standards are consistently met and maintained at the project site. This includes conducting safety inspections, enforcing site safety regulations, investigating incidents, and promoting a culture of safety among all workers and subcontractors. The role plays a vital part in minimizing risks, preventing accidents, and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety laws and project-specific requirements.
Key Accountabilities
ᴧ ᴧ Day- to-day Operations:
ᴧ Develop and implement site-specific HSE plans, policies, and procedures in line with project requirements and Saudi labor laws.
ᴧ Conduct daily safety walkthroughs and inspections to identify unsafe conditions and practices.
ᴧ Ensure all personnel are wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
ᴧ Provide HSE induction and toolbox talks to all site workers and subcontractors.
ᴧ Monitor high-risk activities such as working at height, lifting operations, hot works, and confined space entry.
ᴧ Investigate accidents, near-misses, and incidents, prepare reports, and ensure corrective/preventive actions are implemented.
ᴧ Keep accurate HSE records including checklists, inspection reports, and safety logs.
ᴧ Liaise with local authorities and ensure compliance with all legal HSE obligations.
ᴧ Review subcontractors' safety documentation, such as risk assessments and method statements.
ᴧ Stop unsafe work immediately and advise necessary corrective measures.
ᴧ Assist in emergency drills and evacuation plans and ensure fire-fighting equipment is in place and functional.
ᴧ Monitor and report unsafe behaviors and promote a positive safety culture.
ᴧ Ensure safe storage and handling of chemicals, tools, and hazardous materials.
ᴧ Maintain a permit-to-work system and monitor its application on site.
ᴧ Coordinate with the Project Manager and other stakeholders on risk mitigation strategies.
ᴧ Reporting:
ᴧ Prepare reports timely and accurately to meet HALJ and other departments requirements, policies, and standards.
ᴧ Typing, compiling, and preparing reports, presentations, and correspondence.
ᴧ Health, Safety, & Environment:
ᴧ Monitor the adherence to all relevant safety and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
