Job Description

Job Purpose

Responsible for overseeing the daily operations on a construction site, ensuring that the project progresses according to specifications, timelines, and budget. This role ensures quality control, monitors subcontractors’ work, and coordinates with various stakeholders to resolve site-related issues.

 

Key Accountabilities

      Supervise daily construction activities on-site, ensuring work is executed according to project specifications, drawings, and approved plans.

      Monitor the work of contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project schedules, safety standards, and quality requirements.

      Review and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications, and provide clarification to on-site teams when needed.

      Coordinate site inspections with consultants, clients, and regulatory authorities to ensure successful approvals.

      Ensure that construction work is carried out using approved materials and techniques in compliance with local building codes.

      Prepare and maintain detailed daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and submit to the Project Manager.

      Assist in preparing method statements, risk assessments, and site logistics plans for each construction activity.

      Identify technical or coordination issues on-site and propose timely solutions to prevent delays.

      Supervise site testing and commissioning activities, ensuring proper documentation and verification.

      Ensure all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) measures are implemented and adhered to at the worksite.

      Coordinate between engineering design team and site execution teams to ensure design intent is realized.

      Manage material delivery schedules and monitor on-site storage and usage to prevent wastage.

      Participate in project meetings, subcontractor briefings, and safety tool-box talks.

      Assist in preparing as-built drawings and site handover documentation upon completion.

      Support quality control engineers by identifying and documenting non-conformities and overseeing corrective actions.

      Track and verify progress claims submitted by subcontractors based on actual site progress.

      Ensure proper site handover procedures, including punch list preparation and closure of outstanding issues.

      Assist in planning site resources (labor, materials, equipment) to meet short- and long-term execution goals.

      Maintain and update all relevant logs such as RFI logs, NCR logs, inspection requests, and site diaries.

 

      Reporting:

      Prepare reports timely and accurately to meet HALJ and other departments' requirements, policies, and standards.

      Typing, compiling, and preparing reports, presentations, and correspondence.

      Health, Safety, & Environment:

      Monitor the adherence to all relevant safety and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/services, and a responsible environmental attitude.
